What are CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns?

CEREC machine for making same-day dental crowns in Georgetown

CEREC same-day crowns are custom-designed and milled in-house by Dr. Ifraitekh. Instead of sending the digital impression off to a laboratory, where someone who has never laid eyes on your mouth will be responsible for designing your crown, our team will be able to do it using CAD/CAM software and our in-house milling machine. The best part is that patients will only have to come in for a single visit, where their tooth will be prepared and the crown will be placed all at once.

The Process of Getting a CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown

The first step of the process will be to prepare your affected tooth by removing a small amount of enamel from it. This will allow the CEREC crown to fit perfectly atop the tooth, providing it with ample protection and support, as well as lay flush with other teeth so it doesn’t throw off your bite. Then, our team will take a digital impression of your tooth that we’ll be able to model your crown design off of.

Dr. Ifraitekh will oversee the design of your dental crown in Georgetown. Once it passes his inspection, we’ll send the design to our in-house milling machine, which will be loaded with a solid cube of dental porcelain. This block will be milled to resemble your dental crown design. After the milling process is complete, Dr. Ifraitekh will examine the restoration to make sure it’s the perfect shade and fit before permanently adhering it to your prepared tooth.

The Benefits of CEREC Crowns vs. Traditional Crowns

When you’re able to come into our office, have your tooth prepared, and leave with a permanent crown, you’ll be able to enjoy a number of unique benefits. Thanks to CEREC technology, we’re able to dramatically cut the amount of time you spend in the office down, as well as help you avoid needing to take multiple days of PTO of work. Additionally, because your crown will be crafted by Dr. Ifraitekh, who has seen and treated you before, you can trust that it will be made to perfection.
