What are CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns?

CEREC same-day crowns are custom-designed and milled in-house by Dr. Ifraitekh. Instead of sending the digital impression off to a laboratory, where someone who has never laid eyes on your mouth will be responsible for designing your crown, our team will be able to do it using CAD/CAM software and our in-house milling machine. The best part is that patients will only have to come in for a single visit, where their tooth will be prepared and the crown will be placed all at once.
The Process of Getting a CEREC Same-Day Dental Crown

The first step of the process will be to prepare your affected tooth by removing a small amount of enamel from it. This will allow the CEREC crown to fit perfectly atop the tooth, providing it with ample protection and support, as well as lay flush with other teeth so it doesn’t throw off your bite. Then, our team will take a digital impression of your tooth that we’ll be able to model your crown design off of.
Dr. Ifraitekh will oversee the design of your dental crown in Georgetown. Once it passes his inspection, we’ll send the design to our in-house milling machine, which will be loaded with a solid cube of dental porcelain. This block will be milled to resemble your dental crown design. After the milling process is complete, Dr. Ifraitekh will examine the restoration to make sure it’s the perfect shade and fit before permanently adhering it to your prepared tooth.
The Benefits of CEREC Crowns vs. Traditional Crowns

When you’re able to come into our office, have your tooth prepared, and leave with a permanent crown, you’ll be able to enjoy a number of unique benefits. Thanks to CEREC technology, we’re able to dramatically cut the amount of time you spend in the office down, as well as help you avoid needing to take multiple days of PTO of work. Additionally, because your crown will be crafted by Dr. Ifraitekh, who has seen and treated you before, you can trust that it will be made to perfection.
Understanding the Cost of CEREC Crowns

Understanding the cost of dental crowns is one thing, but what about when your crown is made with CEREC technology? Our team is here to answer all your money-related questions! Dr. Ifraitekh will thoroughly review your expected expenses with you during your consultation, and you’re welcome to call our office for clarification as well. In the meantime, here’s a general overview of the cost of CEREC crowns.
Factors that Affect the Cost of CEREC Crowns

There are two main factors that can affect the cost of CEREC same-day crowns: your unique dental needs and the type of materials used to create the crown.
Depending on the severity of your case, you may need more than one crown, or you may need preliminary treatments like root canal therapy. Generally speaking, multiple crowns and more extensive treatment come with additional expenses.
At 1460 Dental Studio of Georgetown, we use high-quality, cost-effective dental porcelain for our CEREC crowns. This material is known for being an excellent balance between affordability, durability, and seamless aesthetics that will make your CEREC crown look perfectly natural.
Does Dental Insurance Cover CEREC Crowns?

Fortunately, dental insurance coverage for CEREC crowns is usually comparable to what’s provided for traditionally made crowns. Most policies cover at least 50% of the expenses associated with CEREC crown treatments, though it’s always a good idea to check the details of your plan to be sure. As a dental insurance friendly office, our team can also help you navigate the terms of your benefits so you know what sort of coverage to expect.
Other Options for Making CEREC Crowns Affordable
